Twistin’ the Swing is an all-acoustic band, influenced mainly by Gypsy Jazz in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Their repertoire is a great mixture of world and gypsy swing music. They can do Django with their eyes closed (and the proverbial arm tied behind their backs), but get them to open at least one eye and you’ll hear some great Latin, American Jazz and European music rendered through their own interpretation.

Buenos Aires-born Gabriella was influenced by 70s and 80s music as well as Brazilian and Latin American tunes. She has been hooked on the world of music making her own mixed tapes since just 13.

In late 2005 she moved from Argentina to Aotearoa, where she later on got into mixing funky, soulful Deep House, Tech House and Techno. These days she’s a multi-genre regular Dj behind the decks in many Auckland clubs, including Sardine, Longroom, The Churchill, Soul Bar and AV Club/The Lane, The Jefferson;, Lovebucket, Fitzroy Lounge, Morningside Tavern, Found Waiheke, Somthing & Social and events like Le Ball, Taste of Auckland, Morning People, NZ Fashion Week.
